FordEX Group 300lm Mini CREE Flashlight Review

FordEX Group 300lm Tactical FlashlightThis is one of those products where we’d have to say that you get what you pay for. The FordEX Group 300lm Mini CREE Flashlight is a decent little flashlight but we don’t believe it lives up to its 300 lumen rating. However, after using it for a few nights, the light is not as terrible as what we’ve heard people say.

What’s in the Box?

The flashlight comes with the flashlight itself and a lanyard. That’s it. No instructions included. Not even on the package. There isn’t an indication of what type of battery to use but we can tell you that it requires one AA (or one 14500 3.6v)… which by the way is not included. So make sure you have some around if you decide to purchase this flashlight.

The flashlight lens has a sliding action that can go from flood to spotlight beam easily. When using in the spotlight position, the light gives off an unconventional square shape, which is by the way, is the shape of the LED bulb itself. But this does not affect performance.

The tail cap switch is covered in thin red plastic which is easy to use as with all tail-mounted switches. The clip is attached with two small screws that could come loose with extended use. Here’s a video with the flashlight in action:

This is probably one of the cheaper flashlights you can buy at under $5.00. We believe the FordEX Group 300lm Mini CREE Flashlight would be ok for everyday use around the home but it might be worth it to spend a bit more money to get a higher quality flashlight.
